When one of my clients mentioned that table top legs (you know when you hold your legs in 90 degree angles to your hips and your knees at 90 degrees) was an uncomfortable position for her my reaction was... well lets see what alternatives we have - there's ALWAYS an alternative.

We often think if we're not doing something in the exact way that it "supposed to be done" then we're not getting the benefit. This is simply not true. No two bodies are the same so it stands to reason that there will be times when we need to enhance the movements to suit our bodies.

And besides if table top legs is uncomfortable it's likely that the hip flexors are getting a way better work out than the abs! so sometimes the enhancement is temporary until our bodies are ready for more!

So in this class we don't hold table top legs. The abs still get a work out, of course! and the hip flexors get a message that it's ok to take to a little rest when what we're really after is to isolate the abs.
