The Gratitude Jar

gratitude jar

Finding things to be grateful for in our lives has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety by shifting our focus from negative to positive thoughts. It triggers the release of "happiness boosters" like dopamine and serotine, which improve mood and enhance emotional regulation. It also helps to foster contentment and a greater appreciation for our lives and for what we already have.

A while back I came accross the idea of clutivating gratitude with the "Thanksgiving Gratitude Jar", I loved it and I've had one ever since.

Here's how it works...

You take a simple jar, decorate it how you wish, then every day, or as often as you can, from Thanksgiving to Christmas; you think of something that you are grateful for on that day, you write it on a piece of paper and pop it in the jar.

Then on Christmas Day, (or New Year if you prefer) you open your jar of gratitude reminders. A gift to yourself, a reminder of all the things, great and small, that you are grateful for.

You could even get the whole family involved and have a Gratitude Jar opening event😊

Enjoy your gratitudes 🙏🌲
